Nine - It’s Your Funeral

The Spinefarm we begin by producing bands like this? I appreciated the Finnish label for its consistency in producing essentially background band from Finland and that they played black, death or power. Now, with the Swedes Nine, goes even a band playing hardcore punk influences. If I were to mention out of hand a band of reference, think of Entombed's "Uprising", but then the work evolves in a strange way: the CD part still strong, aggressive, with rough vocals of Johan Lindqvist to dominate the scene. The third track is already more quiet with a nice guitar melody, embroidery in the background, unusual speed for such kind. A pity that the production discriminate the sounds of various instruments, to put in evidence, it seems to me, the only voice of Johan. Subsequent songs lose a bit 'of evil and the initial CD starts wearily towards a conclusion, perhaps too hastily, in which the band of Linkoping, seems to play Foo Fighters-style, but with vitriolic vocals. Their questionable decision, but also makes it difficult for myself, being able to give a clear assessment of all of the disk. I'm tempted to define our sound as "post grungecore" you give it a listen, maybe you may also like ... (Francesco Scarci)
